800% slower tutorial

This is a very fun assignment to do in which you will need access to Audacity. First you will need to find a song that you would like to slow down. I like to look through free sound websites like http://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/2. If you feel risky you can find downloads of songs that are not royalty free, but this could cause some trouble, so I like to stick to the royalty free music. Once you find a song you really like you can download it to an mp3, so it is easier to upload to Audacity. After you download it open Audacity and drag the file into Audacity so it can upload.

When the song has uploaded you can then go to the effects tab at the top of the page and scroll down to change tempo.

A box will pop up and you drag the button on the sliding tool down to the end to drag out the tempo. Then hit ok and it will change the tempo to drag it out slowly.

Then you can export the sound and upload it to Soundcloud for everyone to enjoy.

Week eleven summary

This week was sort of a continuation of last week with video being out main way of doing assignments. We got some insight on what we should be including in our videos and a tip to just focus more on the story telling which I really liked. I think because of this the videos that I made were a little better than the ones from last week. I used the resources on the website to get a little bit of a better understanding of how to download videos and do different things with them on iMovie which was nice.

Then I got started on doing more video assignments because I chose option one last week which was to just do a bunch of video assignments. This week I had to do 12 stars, 6 of which had to relate to the course theme in some way. The first assignment I did was worth 4 stars and is called where I want to visit. For this I had to make a video with music and pictures of a place that I would like to visit. I chose Paris, France because that is somewhere I have always wanted to go. I used their national anthem, La Marseillaise, and I used pictures of the Seine, the Eiffel Tower, and the Louvre. I used iMovie to combine these together then uploaded it to youtube. I think it turned out great.

Where I want to visit

The next assignment I did was worth 4.5 stars and had to do with the course theme and it is called how to video. For it I had to make a tutorial video, so I decided to make a video on how to make a secret weapons umbrella for secret agents. I chose to put in how you can put in a grenade in the handle and a recording device underneath it. I used a voice generator website again because I am still having trouble with my strep throat and added pictures of secret agents and umbrellas. I used iMovie again to add everything together and it turned out great.

How to video

The last assignment I did to bring me over the 12 star minimum was called signing words. This one also relates to the class theme so it brings me over that 6 star minimum. In this video I am signing a common phrase heard in a spy movie franchise. My sister learned how to sign a few years ago so I am a bit familiar with the alphabet for ASL, so I just had to familiarize myself with the sequence of letters and I was set. Then I uploaded my video of myself to youtube and it was great.

Then I had to create a mission for our class to do. I thought it might be cool to create a villain that our agents repeatedly have to stop and then create a scenario in which they meet and our secret agent defeats them. I think it might be a cool and creative thing for us to do as a mission.

I did three daily creates this week. The first one I did was on Monday, April 3 and is a response to the share some good news. I felt like dogs wearing hats was some great news, so I shared that.

The next one I did was on Tuesday, April 4 and is a response to make a lolhorse image. I wasn’t sure what that meant so I just went with it and found a funny horse picture on google. I think that this really embodies lolhorse whatever that may be:

The last one I did was Wednesday, April 5 and is a response to make a Huntsman Spider story. I think that after looking up what a Huntsman Spider is I am thoroughly disgusted so I found a cartoon that had no images of spiders and was sort of a small funny story:

And of course I did the usual commenting on others posts throughout the week.

This week we have been tasked with coming up with a mission for the class. There were not very many specifics to go off, so I am going to just go with what came into my mind. I think that it would be cool if we came up with a distinct and recurring super villain who our secret agents repeatedly have to stop. We could make another list of traits and attributes that the character has like we did earlier in the semester with our agents. I think that it might be interesting to have someone that our character knows and has to repeatedly defeat. The mission could be to create the villain and then come up with a written scenario of our secret agent going up against that villain and of course defeating them because that’s how it always goes.

This assignment is called signing words and is worth 4.5 stars to bring me over the 12 star minimum and it is going toward the theme of the class so it also brings me over the 6 stars for that.

In this video I am signing a common phrase heard in one franchise of secret agent movies. This is the first time I have ever had to take a video of myself signing. My sister learned ASL for years, so I am pretty familiar with the alphabet for it, so it was not a hard thing to do. I just had to familiarize myself with the sequence of the letters. I had a fun time using my ASL signing skills that I haven’t really used in a long time for this video. It was a very fun assignment to have to do.

How to video

This assignment is called how to video and is worth 4.5 stars.

I decided to use this as one of the assignments that counted toward the class theme. I decided to do a tutorial video on how to turn an umbrella into a secret weapon. I am still having difficulties with my strep throat so I used a text to voice generator and downloaded the audio. Then I found different pictures of umbrellas and spies to add. I talked about how you can hide a grenade in the hollowed out bottom of the handle and also how you can keep an audio recording device on it so you can always record audio when needed. I think it turned out pretty well. I did learn one thing in doing this video which was how to add external audio into the iMovie file. I added all of this together in iMovie and then uploaded it to youtube.

Where I want to visit

This assignment is worth 4 stars and is called where do you want to go.

For this assignment I had to make a video with pictures of a place I would like to visit. For it I chose Paris, France. I got an audio recording of their national anthem, La Marseillaise. I added pictures of the Eiffel Tower, The Seine River, and The Arc de Triomphe. I used iMovie To take all of these and overlap them which was a pretty effortless process. Then I published it to youtube so people can watch it if they desire. The one thing that I thought was really cool that I learned in making this was how to add opening and ending credits. Before this I had no idea how to add those, so I used google to figure it out. It turned out to be pretty easy once I figured it out. I really think that this came together really well and is a cool video
